Disability for Liver Disease

Liver disease includes alcoholic liver damage, damage from prescription drugs, liver inflammation (hepatitis), scarring and shrinkage (cirrhosis), and acute liver failure from toxins, poisons, mushrooms, and bacteria. When determining disability, however, Social Security concentrates on the damaging effects of the liver disease rather than the specific diagnosis.
