SSI disability recipients and social security disability recipients have their cases reviewed, or re-evaluated, every one, three, or seven years. This is known as a CDR, or continuing disability review.

Generally speaking, most disability claimants will have their benefits continued following a review. To be taken off benefits, disability determination services must be able to show that a claimant's medical condition has improved, to the extent that they no longer meet the social security.
