HOW MANY PEOPLE GET TURNED DOWN FOR DISABILITY CLAIMS ?

As to how many people get turned down for disability claims, this depends to some extent on the state in which a claimant resides. Though social security disability and ssi are federal programs that are, allegedly, uniformly applied regardless of where a claimant lives, it is still an undeniable fact that, in some states, the approval rates are higher or lower than in others.

Whether or not a disability claim will be turned also depends on the level of adjudication. For example, a claim that has been evaluated at the basic application level will generally have a significantly higher chance of being turned down than a disability claim that has been heard by a administrative law judge at a disability hearing.

Regardless, however, of where a claimant lives or whether or not their claim is somewhat new or about to be thrown into the lengthy appeal process, certain advice will always apply: if an applicant's case is turned down, they should seriously consider finding a qualified social seurity disability lawyer to handle their claim, and they should prepare, to the fullest extent possible, for what may be a financially trying experience.
