Journalist

Christine Steele is an award-winning journalist and freelance writer. 

Career. Christine spent 16 years as a reporter and editor at small daily newspapers from Maine to Arizona, where her beats included covering criminal and civil cases in the courts.

Her freelance portfolio includes features for print and online publications including Health Life Magazine and Georgia Hollywood Review.

Education. Christine holds a BFA in creative writing from the University of Maine Farmington and an MFA in creative nonfiction from Goucher College.

Pursuits.  Christine is the founder of the nonprofit Southern New Mexico Unsolved Murders, which highlights the region’s cold-case homicides and disappearances. She lives in a small Southwestern town with her dog Leo and is addicted to road trips and Western skies.
