HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET DISABILITY BENEFITS IF MY CLAIM GETS APPROVED ?

This question is something of a stickler and the simplest answer is that there is no way to know.
Social security disability and ssi disability claims that have been approved at a level handled by disability determination services (this is the state agency which handles claims adjudication for social security prior to the alj hearing level), will often be processed in a local social security office.

In other words, if a DDS examiner approves a disability claim, the case file will be sent back to the social security office from which it originated and the CR (claims rep) will begin processing the case for benefits.

However, if a social security disability or ssi disability claim is approved following a hearing before an administrative law judge, the file will be immediately shipped to a payment processing center. And the unfortunate reality regarding that aspect of the claim process is that a claim may sit in the payment center for many weeks or even months before it is processed.

How long does it take to get disability benefits after your claim has been approved? The unfortunate answer is that there is no way to know.
