Questions about Multiple Sclerosis - MS |
|
Unconventional or alternative treatments for multiple sclerosis have become popular because there is no cure for the disease. Individuals generally are treated with medications such as interferon and corticosteroids. These medications treat the symptoms of MS, as well as reduce the length of an exacerbation. However, the medications can achieve only partial relief of symptoms for some individuals. Alternative treatment options are considered though there is very little clinical evidence to confirm or deny the effectiveness of a therapy. For some individuals with multiple sclerosis the use of conventional and alternative therapies has been beneficial.
