Optic neuritis is the most common visual disorder for individuals with multiple sclerosis. This visual condition is usually transient and has a high recovery rate. Some individuals have more sustained and progressive symptoms; naturally, low vision symptoms should be referred to a professional for treatment. However, there are other disorders such as oscillopsia that cause visual disturbances for individuals with multiple sclerosis. Most of the visual disturbance disorders are currently treated with medications which affect the nervous system such as: baclofen, gabpentin (neurontin) and isoniazid.
