Yes. Some physicians will state that while a drug free approach to treating migraines and headaches is not always possible, it does have distinct advantages. For one thing, prescription medications may, over time, lose their effectiveness requiring changes in dosages or even changes in one's medication regimen. Prescription medications also tend to come with occasional side effects. Non-medicinal therapies for combatting migraines and headache pain, by contrast, do not possess this particular downside. It's also worth noting, of course, that prescription medication can potentially impair the body's production of endorphins, the chemical substances that contribute to "natural highs" and which also work to lessen pain. Ultimately, though, a patient's choice of treatment should be based on the advice and recommendations of their treating physician.
