The skin patch test is done by applying a suspected irritant to a small patch of skin. Radioallergosorbent and paper radioimmunosorbent tests are done by mixing the blood of a patient with various allergens and measuring the antibody levels. The higher antibody levels indicate that an individual is allergic to the substance. Skin biopsy is the removal of a small patch of skin from the affected area for analysis under a microscope.
