Individuals with fibromyalgia suffer from a wide range of symptoms and many FMS patients are burdened with having to deal with many fibro-related symptoms simultaneously. Headaches and migraines, unfortunately, are one of those symptoms.

Statistically, about half of those with fibromyalgia also have recurrent headaches or migraines, and in some cases this may be related to a high incidence of bruxism (tooth grinding) and TMJ in FMS patients as well.

However, it should also be noted that low levels of the neurotransmitter serotonin seem correlated with the incidence of migraines and low serotonin levels have also been found in fibromyalgia patients.
