Anti-inflammatory drugs, also known as NSAIDS, do exactly what their name implies. They work to reduce inflammation. Generally, NSAIDS are used to treat conditions like osteoarthritis versus fibromyalgia for which there is very little associated inflammation. However, even with this being the case, NSAIDS can still benefit fibromyalgia patients because of their analgesic pain-relieving properties.
