Fibromyalgia
People with fibromyalgia often complain of not being able to sleep restfully. They have trouble falling asleep and, often, even after they have entered sleep seem to fall in and out of sleep. Unfortunately, the ability to sleep peacefully and reach the deeper levels of sleep (stage 4 delta wave sleep) may be a principal component of developing fibromyalgia. It is at the deepest levels of sleep that body tissue undergoes repair. When this regeneration is not completed, it may be that a person becomes more susceptible to complaints of pain, fatigue, and morning stiffness.
