Many individuals with fibromyalgia report that they have sensations of numbness or tingling in their extremities (arms, hands, feet, and legs). Known as paresthesia, these feelings of numbness or tingling are reported by roughly half of all fibromyalgia patients.

Since these tingling sensations are similar to some of the less severe neuropathic sensations experienced by diabetics (neuropathies can be tingling...or burning), it is advisable for those who have not been diagnosed with fibromyalgia (or any other condition) to seek the advice of a physician when these sensations first occur.
