DISABILITY AND MARFAN’S SYNDROME - BENEFITS AND FILING

Marfan’s syndrome is a genetic disease of the connective tissue, usually typified by abnormal height and excessive length of the extremities. 

Symptoms of Marfan’s syndrome may include scoliosis, abnormalities of the sternum, and cardiovascular problems. Cardiovascular problems such as aortic aneurysms and leaking valves are the most serious symptoms of Marfan’s syndrome. 

It is suggested that individuals with Marfan’s syndrome have regular cardiovascular checkups. Although there is no cure for marfan's syndrome, most who have the condition will live relatively normal lives with proper treatment of the symptoms.
