Behcet’s disease is an autoimmune disease that is the result of the body producing to many immune cells. The overproduction of the immune cells causes outbreaks of inflammation which are usually painful, however not life threatening. Behcet’s usually causes mouth ulcers, in fact, if an individual has other symptoms attributed to Behcet’s but no mouth ulceration, the individual must be diagnosed with suspected Behcet’s.
