DISABILITY AND MORTON’S NEUROMA - BENEFITS AND FILING

Individual’s who are flatfooted or have “falling” arches are most susceptible to Morton‘s neuroma. Pain and numbness between the third and fourth toe results when weight is put on the feet. Treatment of Morton’s neuroma usually includes wearing wide toed shoes, wearing no high heels and the use of arch supports. Additionally, injections of anesthesia or corticosteriods may be used in an effort to reduce inflammation soft tissues in the third and fourth interdigital space. If all of the above mentioned treatment options fail to relieve the pain and numbness associated with this condition, there are minor surgical procedures to correct Morton’s neuroma.
