Nsaids are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. As the name indicates, nsaid are not steroids, nor do they pose the same dangers from continued use such as from steroids like prednisone. Nsaids, however, like predisone, are used to treat inflammation. Common over the counter nsaids include aspirin and advil (ibuprofen) and low-dose naposyn, while prescription nsaids include drugs like prescription naprosyn, relafen, and clinoril. Nsaids are sometimes taken in combination with muscle relaxants and other medications as determined by physicians. |
