If you get more restful sleep, will it improve your fibromyalgia symptoms?

There's no reason to believe that it won't. There seems to be a fairly strong link between fibromyalgia and sleep difficulties. Many individuals with FMS report sleep apnea for instance. The thinking on sleep as it relates to fibromyalgia seems to be that sleep deprivation, and a failure to achieve restorative deep level sleep (stage 4, delta wave sleep), inhibits the body's ability to recuperate and, as a result, an increased sensitivity to pain may result. Interestingly, enough, human growth hormone, is released by the body's pituitary gland during deep level sleep.
