Acute Renal Failure

Renal failure is the loss of the kidney's ability to properly filter the blood. Acute renal failure, or arf, is renal failure that occurs suddenly. Acute renal failure can result from a toxic reaction or from an injury, but also from infection or inflammation. The symptoms of ARF include uremia (excessive urea in the blood) and oliguria (reduced urine output).
