Activities of daily living are those activities that occur naturally and normally throughout the course of a day. They include grooming activities, toileting, eating, cleaning, and those activities that would be considered normal and necessary, such as the preparation of meals and the acquisition of food (groceries). Both hospitals and disability benefit programs will measure an individual's level of preparedness and eligiblity for benefit consideration on the basis of the extent to which activities of daily living can be carried out. |
