Asperger's Syndrome

Asperger's syndrome is a form of autism. Though asperger's is not considered to be as severe as other forms of autism, it nonetheless results in significant social and communicative deficits.

Those diagnosed with asperger's tend to have normal IQ or even higher than normal IQ, which may differentiate asperger's patients significantly from individuals who have other types of developmental disorders. Because of this, diagnosing an individual with asperger's may not be so easy. And, in fact, some asperger's patients do not even receive a diagnosis until they are well into adulthood.
