Acroparesthesia is a disease that causes stiffness, numbness, and tingling in the extremities, sometimes causing pain. In areas affected by acroparesthesia, nerve compression may result. This has the effect of causing extreme sensitivity at the tips of the extremities that have been affected. Acroparesthesia can cause acrocyanosis (cyanosis of the extremities - cyanosis is defined as bluish discoloration of the skin which is caused by oxygen deprivation) and can also cause gangrene. |
