An alveolar cell carcinoma is a type of neoplasm (a neoplasm is essentially a tumor, benign or malignant). It develops in a bronchiole (small airways that are subdivisions of the bronchus) and then spreads out along the surfaces of alveoli. Alveolar cell carinoma is characterized by significant amounts of sputum and by severe coughing. The disease is also known by the names bronchioaveolar carcinoma and bronchiolar carcinoma. |
