Abdominal Pain






Abdominal pain can be either acute or chronic. It can also be specific to one part of the abdomen, or experienced diffusely throughout the abdominal cavity. Abdominal pain can be as simple as an ordinary stomachache. However, there are a number conditions that can cause abdominal pain. These conditions include hernias, ulcers, obstructions, and even the rupture of an organ. Conditions that produce abdominal pain which result in the need for surgery include appendicitus, diverticulitis, cholecystitis, pancreatitis, abdominal aortic aneurysms, and peptic ulcer perforations.
